Welcome to this week’s GYGO! My name is December and this is my first round-up! I’m excited to be here with y’all ! It is now September and the west coast is still on fire, the east coast is still too wet, and unfortunately Covid-19 is still everywhere. But PAX West was this weekend, so what better time to hunker down with some gaming news? (more…)

Howdy and welcome to Get Your Game On! My name is Maddi, and since last we met I have started playing the life-changing Yakuza 0. My early-game thoughts are that I would do anything for Kazuma Kiryu and his kind, gentle eyes. As always, I’m sitting on a significant pile of unplayed games, but I’m looking forward to adding to it as the games announced at E3 start coming out. (I’m particularly excited for Sable and that Japanese Breakfast score!)
E3 was still stealing most of the game news headlines last week, but here’s everything else you might have missed! (more…)

Hello and welcome to GYGO! I’m Kael, your local space peace advocate, and I’ve spent this week replaying Mass Effect. Turns out as much as I disliked the space marine archetype in 2007, I’m even less into it now in 2021. Why isn’t it enough to travel the galaxy lifting heavy objects with my mind and occasionally kissing an alien? Why must we shoot (and also commit like, multiple war crimes while asserting strangely human-centric space colonialism)? Anyway, while not reflecting on violence and the state in space, I was collecting this week’s hottest gaming news. Enjoy! (more…)

Hello and welcome to Get Your Game On! I’m Maddi, and I am already melting in the wake of summer-like temperatures here on the East Coast. Naturally, I’m staying cool by hanging out inside and playing video games. I’m (very) slowly making my way through Nier: Replicant as well as a new set of nonograms in Picross S2. What have you been playing lately? Let us know on Twitter, or, if you’re a Patron at the NES tier or higher, come tell us about it in our Discord! Now, here’s some cool news from the past week. (more…)

Content warning: racism, including anti-Asian and anti-Muslim racism.
Hello and welcome to Get Your Game On! My name is Zainabb, and this week has shone a stark light on the ongoing issue of racism, and particularly anti-Asian racism, across gaming. Remember to take care of yourself, support Black and Asian creators, and fight against racism in all areas of your life. (more…)
