This past weekend, fighting game players from around the world converged on New Jersey for East Coast Throwdown 2018. Besides being an official Ranking Event for Capcom’s Street Fighter V Pro Tour, the tournament also highlighted Dominique “SonicFox” McLean’s continued dominance across multiple fighting games in addition to being the first real tournament for Bandai Namco’s newly-released Soulcalibur VI. They were once a top JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future player in the US, but then adulthood happened. Liam now lives just outside Washington, D.C., where they spend their time writing, drawing, designing games, exploring fashion, and keeping it dialectical.

Happy Wednesday! What have you been playing lately? I finished Spider-Man‘s main story and look forward to playing its first DLC chapter, The Heist (more on that below). I also finished Life is Strange 2 episode 1. If you’re looking for a heartbreaking story about two brothers that challenges racism and xenophobia, it’s a must-play. I’m only a few hours into Assassin’s Creed Odyssey but I hope Kassandra’s romance storylines begin sooner than later. Meanwhile I’m also playing Tomb Raider (2013) for the first time and I feel so inspired by Lara’s tenacity. Let us know on Twitter what you’re playing lately!
