Hello and welcome to Wednesday, friends! I’m falling back into old habits and really enjoying Final Fantasy XIV lately. It’s been ages since I played an MMO, but I like this one because I don’t feel a huge sense of urgency to get anywhere. I level up quickly almost entirely with story and class quests so (aside from a very bad quest chain to unlock Titan) I don’t spend much time doing busywork; I hop in and out of dungeons with friends and then chase down that asshole Thancred once again. It’s a lot of fun, even if I’ve heard that the story exponentially improves later on.

Hello everyone! It’s me again, back from a bit of a hiatus after a few big life events: I got married, I went on my honeymoon to Canada, and I’ve picked Celeste back up to collect everything I missed on the first playthrough. I’ve gotten all the crystal hearts and B-sides, and soon I’ll get every last strawberry. I have yet to tackle most of the B-sides themselves… and I’m currently chipping my way through The Cave… but I’ll 100% the game someday, mark my words. Anyway, here’s this week’s gaming news! Let’s start off a bang: the Riot Games settlement. (more…)

Howdy, gaming lovelies, and happy Wednesday! I might not be caught up on Games of Thrones, but that didn’t stop my D&D group from having our own little “hold the door” moment Friday night. Thankfully it mostly worked out, even if the towns will be singing songs of our uninvited assistance, followed by us burning everything down. What’s your favorite personal gaming moment from the week? Let me know in the comments! Now, on to the news! (more…)

Hello, and welcome to GYGO! I’m Kael, your local summer child, and I for one am ecstatic that we’ve defeated Winter’s specter for one more year! It’s kind of embarrassing, but recently I’ve been making my way through Skyrim again. It’s hard to believe the game is almost a decade old now. By this point, I honestly just use it as a “build a house and collect flowers simulator,” like The Sims with swords, if you will. Anyway, when I’m not trying to purposefully contract vampirism for the aesthetic, I’m collecting news from all around the web to share with y’all! (more…)

The first time I heard No Man’s Sky referred to as a “podcast game,” I felt my entire life change. I’m a notorious multitasker, and the idea that I could both play something and catch up on one of the numerous podcasts I’m behind on at the same time was revelatory.
Now, to be fair, I’ve never actually sat down to play No Man’s Sky while listening to podcasts. But as I was thinking about this, and all the other things I do while playing games, I realized that there’s a not insignificant part of my gaming history intertwined with the music I was listening to while playing. So, as always, I asked the Sidequest crew what they thought! (more…)
