Life is Strange: Waves wrapped up in Life is Strange #8 with more questions than answers. Life is Strange: Strings kicks off with a promise to search for them, but it takes its time. Before the audience can get answers, Chloe and Rachel have to catch up with what we already know—and that’s a lot. As a result, not a whole lot of concrete plot developments rear up. Recap: Life is Strange #8 Ends With a Bang

Life is Strange: Waves, starting with LiS #5 and wrapping up here with LiS #8, follows Max as she asks a lot of questions about the world she’s in. While we spend plenty of time with Chloe, Rachel, and even Tristan, this is Max’s story and her search for answers drives much of the action. Why was this the timeline that called out to her in the conclusion of Life is Strange: Dust? Why does Tristan have these supernatural powers? Is there a link between her and Tristan? Why does her old life seem to constantly resurface? Ultimately, LiS #8 doesn’t answer many of these questions, but that’s okay. It wasn’t about the questions it raised in the end; it was about Max finding her place in this new world. (more…)

When I finished Life is Strange #5, I said that the table was set for an exciting story. Sure enough, Life is Strange #6 delivers in a way that’s unexpected but still feels perfectly inevitable. We find out that Max has been in Santa Monica for two years. That whole time she’s been building her life with Chloe and Rachel, and LiS #6 takes great glee in crashing those lives together.
