Hello and welcome to GYGO! I’m Kael, the ghost of news cycles past come back from the dead to marvel at the fact Activision Blizzard is literally never not up to some bull. Though maybe that is soon to be a thing of the past as Microsoft slowly devours them body and soul. Anyway, the news! (more…)

Welcome back to Get Your Game On! My name is Zainabb and I don’t know about you, but I’m already having a bit of a rough start to the year with housing and work concerns and some classic white nonsense. Whether you’ve got a spring in your step this month or, like me, you’re already feeling drained, spend some time with a game you enjoy. I haven’t had much capacity this week so I’ve played my perennial fave Cozy Grove in a couple of 20 minute bursts, and I’m also eyeing up the Solo Journaling RPG Jam for more games I can play in small chunks.
Remember to stretch and ask for help if you need it. Here’s this week’s gaming news. (more…)

Howdy and welcome to this week’s installment of Get Your Game On! It’s Maddi, checking in with all the latest and not-so-greatest goings on in the video game industry. You will probably be unsurprised to learn that over the last month I have played little other than Hades, but having finished a big part of the main game I am now consumed by the incredibly important task of getting Zagreus a boyfriend. (Although I did play, and recommend, the delightfully dramatic Overboard! by 80 Days creators Inkle.) What have you been up to? Let us know on Twitter, or, if you’re a Sidequest Patron at the Sega Genesis tier or higher, you can tell us about your favorites in our Discord! (more…)

Hello and welcome to Get Your Game On! My name is Zainabb and trying to de-tangle the Epic vs Apple trial has been a struggle. Listen, life may be hard right now but at least we got a whole bunch of new memes. Here’s what games have been like this week. (more…)

Hello and welcome to GYGO! I’m Kael, your local gaming dilettante, and I’ve tried to play four separate JRPGs this week. It started with Ni No Kuni, which is absolutely beautiful but has a seemingly never-ending tutorial. Then it was back to Chrono Trigger, a slight dip into Dark Cloud 2, before I finally settled into Nier Automata. Now the fun thing about Nier is that my current PC has a mid-range graphics card from 2014, and can only reasonably run it on 480p. Personally, I think more games should consider worse graphics as an aesthetic because the PlayStation-2-style visuals really work with Nier.
Anyway, when I wasn’t making a vibe out of old hardware I was collecting this weeks gaming news. Enjoy! (more…)
