I’ll also be watching with a little envy at the fun and photos coming out of PAX South this weekend. Until then, let’s stay warm together with a spark of news!

Bungie Takes Destiny in the Bungie/Activision Break-Up

In a break-up rumored to be years in the making, game developer Bungie is splitting up with publishing partner Activision. The company is also securing the rights to the Destiny franchise and will assume full publishing rights and responsibilities for the property. While the game pundits work out what this means for the future of Destiny and whether it’s a chance for reset or a mired mess, fans are dealing with the more immediate frustrations of a messed-up in-game hint. Hopefully not a harbinger of the what’s to come, the debacle turned so fierce that Bungie gave a hint out on their forums.

Take Flight with Wingspan

After a successful company pre-order, the buzz around Wingspan, the latest game from Stonemaier Games (Scythe), continues to build. In this competitive, card-driven board game, players are bird enthusiasts trying to discover and attract the best birds to your wildlife preserve. The game is created by game designer Elizabeth Hargrave, who was a co-winner in the 2018 GenCant Design Contest for the lovely super cute and lightweight game, Tussie-Mussie. The game releases on March 9.
