THINKGEEK arrived at 2018 San Diego Comic Con with tons of fall previews in tow. The most exciting line in their upcoming launches is the Fallout merch and memorabilia that will be available just in time for Christmas. Us here at Sidequest are pretty excited, so we thought we would rank the top five best Fallout releases coming this fall, which are all available for pre-order now!
5. Modern Icons #7 – Fallout T-51 Power Armor Statue
$49.99
Nothing is more valuable in the irradiated wasteland of the Fallout games than a set of Power Armor. Well, THINKGEEK is adding on to their Fallout statue game with this nine-inch tall figure designed by Chronicle Collectibles. This statue is painted with a battle-worn patina and will be exclusive to THINKGEEK and GameStop stores this holiday season. It weighs a whopping one pound, and is number five on my list because honestly, power armor figures are becoming a standard part Fallout merch. But if you’re into well-made statues of figures in armor with great paint jobs, this is definitely your guy!
4. Fallout Fusion Flea Replica Car
$99.99 (Holiday 2018)
This replica depicts one of the three-wheeled nuclear cars you see strewn across the Fallout games’ wasteland brought back to its former glory in a mini diecast metal replica in 1/18th scale. I got to hold this baby, and it feels incredibly well made, with an opening hood and canopy, and a completely removable, glowing fusion core! The Fallout Fusion Flea Replica Car 2018 holiday release will set you back $100, but with the car, you also get an enamel pin badge, a vintage Fusion Flea collectible postcard, an owner’s manual, and presentation packaging.
3. Modern Icons #8 – Fallout Vault Girl Statue
$49.99 (Holiday 2018)
Apart from the Modern Icons line of statues, I was very impressed with this figure. This Fallout Vault Girl is incredibly well painted and is made out of a PVC material that makes it possible for THINKGEEK to give you a quality statue for a third of the price most people are used to seeing for figures of this caliber. I got up close, and the details in her vault suit are gorgeous. You can see the wearing on the vault suit, the creases where the dirt has settled, and every knob and button is meticulously represented on her Pip-Boy, with the front screen giving you a thumbs up from Val-Tech’s very own Vault-Boy. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on this figure come Christmas.
2. Fallout 1:6 Scale Dogmeat Statue
$39.99 (Holiday 2018)
Everybody’s favorite dystopian good boy is making his way to THINKGEEK’s shelves this holiday season. The 1:6 scale Dogmeat Statue features two interchangeable heads, one with armor and one without, both adorable. He stands on a pedestal of cracked concrete wearing his signature battle armor. I love any excellent pup who runs fearlessly at a Super Mutant, and this statue catches Dogmeat’s likeness perfectly! This one is definitely going on this year’s Christmas list.
1. Fallout 76 Pip-Boy 2000 Construction Kit
$149.99 (Holiday 2018)
I have been jonesing for a Pip-Boy of my own since they released the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition back in 2015. But at a wild price of $250, I just couldn’t bring myself to make that leap. But THINKGEEK is causing all my Christmas dreams to come true by releasing the Fallout 76 Pip-Boy 2000 Construction Kit. I got to hold this fantastic piece of art at SDCC, and let me tell you; it is worth its price of $149.99. It is well weighted, with padding on the inner cuff so you can actually wear the Pip-Boy once you’ve put it together. It comes with 150 precision parts that are encased in a leather package designed to fit the retro-alternate future world of Fallout 76. It also comes with an ejectable holotape and tools to help you assemble this beauty.
The one thing this Pip-Boy doesn’t have is working electronics. It is more of a display piece than anything, but the craftsmanship of this replica and the focus put into the details of the packaging is awesome. If you’re like me and have always wanted a Pip-Boy of your own, I suggest you head over to THINKGEEK and pick one up.
