Game Enjambment is a reoccurring poetry series on games and gaming.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf often wants you to send letters to your animal neighbors to improve their relationships, send them furniture you want in their house, or get them to send you presents back. They occasionally like to show off these letters to you or to other people that visit, so when I started mailing my neighbors gifts, I decided to make them haiku so I could be entertained by them when I saw them again.
It’s a good thing I’m easily entertained.
To Frita:
Odd hamburger sheep
Some may think you’re kind of weird
I think you’re tasty
To Ribbot:
Mechanical frog
Why on earth are you a jock?
That doesn’t make sense
Also to Ribbot:
You are made of steel
How do you not short circuit
walking in the rain?
To Soliel:
You are a lady
A small, rotund rodent, but
Lady nonetheless
To Bianca:
It’s totes Bianca
You know all the hipster slang
Are oh tee eff el
To Goldie:
Just a normal dog
Some might think you’re a bit bland
I think you’re adorbs
Also to Goldie:
Golden retriever
Your name’s a bit obvious
Don’t you think so too?
To Snake:
A reptile-named hare
Also a game character
The puns are endless
Also to Snake:
Poof! Ninja bunny
Does jumping jacks like the wind
Um, how does that work
When snake sold his kotatsu:
WTF, dudebro
Why would you get rid of this?
Now your house is bare
About (but thankfully not to) Saharah:
Saharah’s useless
Why only the cheap carpet?
Take this off my hands.
Tia (because of course I have Tia):
My mayor’s name twin
There can only be one, but
I will let you live
You’d better display this:
This is my attempt
to give you some themed decor
Please do not fail me
This is not a compliment about your taste:
I couldn’t decide
who would actually want this
Please don’t give it back
It really does:
Polka dotted chair
It looks so much cooler when
you coat it in gold
I’m not humble:
Consolation prize
since you will not win Bug-Off
That’s gonna be me
Winter is coming here:
Babe, it’s cold outside
Not trying to creep you out
Maybe wear long sleeves?
I was late and it was tired:
Loom, loom, it’s a loom
Why send a loom for your room?
I like rhyming things
After reading these,
contemplating poet skills,
I’ll stick to retail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
