Happy Wednesday, gaming lovelies! If the work week has got you down, try daydreaming about the Larp Design Conference in Poland. The three-day conference for designers and organizers takes place in a castle. That’s right, a castle! Don’t you wish your employer would send you? Now, on to the news!
The rise of retro game references in fashion
Sometimes drawers full of quirky Welovefine and TeeTurtle gamer tshirts just don’t cut it. Thankfully, you can step up your fashion game. With top designers like Louis Vuitton and Anya Hindmarsh referencing games we know and love, hopefully the runway will be chock full of option someday soon.
Out this week: Max, an Autistic Journey
Developed by the dad of an autistic child, Max, an Austistic Journey, takes us into the world of 10 year old Max. The retro-styled turn-based RPG shows players familiar every day events which may feel alien. The game releases on Steam, Friday August 19.
Board games sales get a boost from Steam and mobile apps
VR video game makers aren’t the only ones pushing the boundaries of gaming. Hybrid board games with a digital component are expanding our tabletop gaming reality. The latest edition of Mansions of Madness from Fantasy Flight (Star Wars: Imperial Assault, Netrunner) will require a digital app in order to play.
